Nicolas Anelka is a French striker, who was born on March 14,1979 in Versailles. He married Barbara Tausia, Frontwomen from the Dance-Band Eu4ya, in July 2007. Nicknamed “Le Sulk”, Nicolas Anelka made his debut for the French U-20 team in 1997 at the FIFA World Youth Championship and made his senior team debut for the country in a goalless draw with Sweden in April 1998. He came in as a substitute and scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Lithuania in March 2007 at the EURO 2008 qualifier. He has formed the number one attacking partnership with Thierry Henry, a renowned French striker.
Nicolas Anelka kick started his football career at the Paris Saint Germain F.C. as a youth player, and in February 2007, he joined Arsenal for a whopping fee of £500,000. He scored his first goal for the team in a 3-2 home win against Manchester United. In the 1997-98 season, he played a significant role in Arsenal’s Double win at the Premier League Championship and the FA Cup trophy. At the FA Cup final, Nicolas Anelka scored the second goal in the 2-0 win for Arsenal over Newcastle United. The team lifted the Charity shield in 1998-99, and he made 90 appearances for his club, scoring 28 goals and went on to win the ‘PFA Young Player of the Year’ award that season.
Nicolas Anelka moved to Real Madrid C.F. during the summer of 1999 and scored crucial goals in both legs of the Champions League Campaign’s semi-finals against Bayern Munich. In a transfer deal, Nicolas Anelka signed a contract with Paris-Saint-Germain and lifted the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2001-02. He made a comeback to English Premiership in 2002, when he signed Liverpool on a short term loan. He was part of the team that won the runners-up title at the FA Premier League in the 2001-02 season. Nicolas Anelka joined Manchester City F.C. for a club record fee of £13m, and in January 2005 he went to Turkish team, Fenerbahçe, on a transfer. During his tenure with the Turkish team, he contributed to the team’s victory in the Turkish Premier Super League in 2004-05. He also was a member of the runners-up title at the Turkish Cup and the Turkish Premier Super League during the 2005-06 season.
After his transfer period with Fenerbahçe, Nicolas Anelka signed a deal with the Bolton Wanderers in August 2006. He made his debut for this club in September 2006 against Watford and emerged as the top goal scorer in the season that followed. He became the most expensive player in the history of football, when he signed Chelsea for £18m in January 2008. Nicolas Anelka made Chelsea debut against Tottenham Hotspur later that month and scored his first goal for Chelsea in their match against Wigan Atletic at the 4th round of the FA Cup. Then, in February, Nicolas Anelka kicked his first league goal for Chelsea, when they played against Portsmouth F.C and amazed football spectators when he scored 4 goals in a 5-0 win against AC Milan in August 2008.
His passion for acting came alive in 2002, when he acted in the film Le Boulet as a footballer named Nicolas and in a recent advert for the French fast food chain Quick.
